The CCL high end & intensive two weekend chess camp was voted a success by all who survived! Here is a picture of some of the participants.

Congrats to Anagh for going out to Indy last weekend and tying for 1st in the U-1800 section, earning over $1000 for this effort. Goran tied for 2nd in the Open section and Om came in tied 4th in the U-1500 section.

Perhaps for the first time since the 1940’s, before any of the CCL coaches were born, there is going to be a chess match between Russia (and it may have been for the whole former USSR) and a program in the USA. And this honor goes to CCL. This will be a 10 board match at 9:00 AM (5:00 Moscow time), Saturday September 15th. More details when they become available. The CCL team will be Walker, John, Maggie, Rahul, Abhi, Luke, Chris, Noah K, Emily, and Meghana.

Yesterday Maggie finished competing in the 2012 Pan American Chess Championship in Peru, South America. She went undefeated, winning her fist 5 games and drawing her last 4 games. Her 7-2 score was good enough for 2nd place in the Girls U-12 division.
